Working as a Graphic Designer at FunAds feels like embarking on a creative rollercoaster ride, complete with highs, twists, and, naturally, a few loop-the-loops! I'm excited to discuss some of the exhilarating challenges I encounter in my role:


🕺🏼 The Dance of Balancing Creativity and Client Expectations


During my time as a Graphic designer at Fun Ads Solutions, I face the challenge of harmonizing Client Expectations with preserving their creative vision.

On numerous occasions, clients may have specific ideas that do not align with the designer's vision (or as a fun twist, we could say that clients frequently overlook the briefing tools provided by the agency, but that's a story for another day) . Consequently, this situation can lead to creative hurdles and potentially cause frustration.


What is the key to conquering these challenges?


  1. Clear Communication Is key , setting clear expectations, and finding a balance where both the creative vision and the client’s needs are met in a harmonious way.Compromising doesn’t mean sacrificing creativity; it’s about merging ideas to create the best possible outcome.


🎨Creative Blocks: When the creative Juices take a Day Off!


  1. Sometimes the creative Juice decides to take a mini-vacation, and I’m left staring at a blank screen, waiting for the magic to happen.Creative Block is real and hey, does not care about client deadlines

  2. The trick to Sparking the Creative Juices, Research, portfolio reviewing checking out design trends, or simply stepping away for a fresh perspective.

  3. By practising this I’ve learned how to reignite that creative flame


🤌🏼Juggling Deadlines Like a Pro


  1. The pressure to produce high-quality work in a short amount of time can be overwhelming.But let’s be honest: nothing sparks creativity like a little deadline pressure, right?

  2. The trick ? Balancing speed with quality while still making sure every detail is flawless.


Embracing the Challenges, Loving the FUNTASTIC Ride!


At the end of the day, these challenges are what keep things exciting. From the feedback loops to the creative blocks, every twist and turn teaches me something new, pushes my creativity, and makes me a better designer. Sure, the road isn’t always smooth, but where’s the fun in that?


At FunAds, the fun never ends—and to be honest, I wouldn't want it any other way!

Reflections and Key Takeaways for Fun Ads Solutions.


After attending Nedbank IMC 2024, I walked away with more than just a stack of business cards (Oh except, I flexed a little differently with my digital card, from Pro Digital and formed and a few new LinkedIn connections.


I went into the conference with a clear purpose, TO OBSERVE. This strategy of stepping back, listening, and reflecting has offered some powerful insights that I believe will help Fun Ads Solutions grow further and "Challenge itself as a business"


It was fascinating to see a mix of marketing managers from various industries and creative agencies supporting their clients. But as I paid close attention, a key pattern became evident, most of the agency leadership were men (quite typical of the marketing agency space in most countries), no, this is not an activist blog, read on.


Here’s the interesting bit, despite it seeming to be a male dominated industry , these same agencies are RUN by women. (We multitask better, obviously!)


It made me realize that to grow Fun Ads Solutions successfully, we need to embody the confidence and maintain the resilience and drive of a bunch of men in a boy’s club. (This is actually poetic and very symbolic 😅😎)


I did manage to connect with some key speakers who could bring serious value to our upcoming calendar of activities.


Moving forward, I see the future of Fun Ads Solutions in creating immersive experiences. It is not about hard-selling but creating environments where decision-makers can truly experience brand magic through compelling story telling.


What’s Next for Fun Ads?

Nedbank IMC 2024, reinforced that while we are indeed on the right path, there’s always room to grow, adapt, and sharpen our approach. And as we move forward, we’ll be doing so with confidence, purpose, and maybe a little extra swagger. 😉

This past week at Fun Ads Solutions has been a whirlwind of interviews as we searched for fresh talent to join our team.


One thing became clear early on—there’s a vast pool of untapped #talent out in #Botswana, waiting to be #discovered, we also realised something important: not every individual fits into every environment, no matter how skilled they are.


To ensure we’re bringing on the best people for our vibrant and fast-paced culture, we added a personality test to our interview process.



This step gave us a deeper understanding of how each candidate would blend into the team culture, Our biggest takeaway? Letting go of the fear of trying something completely new, we opened ourselves to fresh faces and ideas—and it’s been game-changing #FUNTASTIC experience


At Fun Ads, we believe everyone deserves a fair opportunity to let their talent shine. This experience has only reaffirmed our commitment, to being a leader in all things marketing and we’re excited for the new team members that are about to be a part of the Funtastic Tribe.
